Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Summary Our client is a leading
custom home general contractor in the San Diego, CA area. They are
in need of a Custom Home Project Manager, who will be responsible
for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our client's building
projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and
to the highest quality standards. You will manage construction
activities on-site, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers,
and ensure compliance with all building codes and safety
regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in
custom home construction, strong leadership skills, and a keen eye
for detail. Duties & Responsibilities Project Oversight: Supervise
and manage all on-site construction activities for custom home
projects. Ensure that projects are completed according to design
specifications, quality standards, and client expectations.
Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, and labor to
ensure timely completion of tasks. Quality Control and Assurance:
Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to ensure adherence
to design specifications and quality standards. Identify and
address any issues or deficiencies promptly, ensuring high-quality
craftsmanship. Implement quality control measures and maintain a
focus on delivering a superior finished product. Scheduling and
Coordination: Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules,
ensuring that all phases of construction are completed on time.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure
seamless project execution. Communicate regularly with clients,
providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns
or changes. Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project expenses
and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Review and approve
invoices, change orders, and purchase orders. Identify cost-saving
opportunities and implement value engineering strategies without
compromising quality. Safety Management: Promote and enforce a
strong safety culture on the construction site. Ensure compliance
with all safety regulations and standards, conducting safety
meetings and inspections as needed. Address and rectify any safety
hazards or violations promptly. Subcontractor and Supplier
Management: Select, hire, and manage subcontractors and suppliers,
ensuring they meet project requirements and quality standards.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
Resolve any disputes or issues with subcontractors and suppliers to
maintain project continuity. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain
accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily
logs, progress reports, and change orders. Prepare and submit
regular reports on project status, including schedules, budgets,
and quality metrics. Document any changes or modifications to
project plans and ensure proper communication with all
stakeholders. Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of
contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any
concerns or requests. Ensure that client expectations are met or
exceeded throughout the construction process. Conduct final
walk-throughs with clients, addressing any punch list items and
ensuring client satisfaction. Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or
related field preferred. Proven experience as a Construction
Superintendent in custom home building. Strong knowledge of
construction methods, materials, building codes, and industry
standards. Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the
ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in construction management software and tools. Strong
communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and project
teams. Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality and
craftsmanship. Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to
identifying and addressing construction challenges. Valid drivers
license and reliable transportation. Note: This job description is
