Position description
The 21st Century China Center is pleased to announce a Postdoctoral
Research Associate position in the China Data Lab in the area of
Chinese politics. In addition to carrying out their own research,
the appointees will work to support research in the China Data Lab.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate can join existing research
projects at CDL or initiate new data-driven and policy-relevant
research under the supervision of CDL director, with the
expectation that such research will result in future publications
in academic journals or other venues. The position offers the
opportunity to join a large community of China scholars with a
strong track record of high-quality publications on data-driven
research on Chinese politics and focus on policy impacts. The
position will offer the opportunity to co-author papers with
mentors committed to helping the selected candidate launch a
successful academic career with a strong research pipeline.
The Associate will be expected to work on campus and actively
engage in the intellectual life of the University. A Ph.D. in
Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Statistics, or Computer
Science or another quantitative or computational social science
field with a research focus on Chinese politics is required. The
candidate should have a strong background in research methodology
and a demonstrated ability to produce high quality research
papers.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Applicants are required to hold a Ph.D. or ABD in Political
Science, Economics, Sociology, Statistics, or Computer Science or
another quantitative or computational social science field with a
research focus on Chinese politics.
