Pay Information $2,183 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Must have vent experience; previous ICU experience preferred License: California RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Familiarity with Pacemakers (Epicardial and permanent), experience with vasoactive medications, ventilators, chest tubes, and central lines Description: This position is for a step-down unit with a 30-bed capacity. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2. The age groups of patients include adults and geriatrics. Top diagnoses and procedures include ARDS, sepsis, neurosurgery, stroke, cardiac surgery, respiratory failure, multi-organ failure, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, and diabetes. Special procedures performed on the unit include chest tube insertion, central line placement, and drain management. The nurse will titrate vasoactive drips including dopamine, dobutamine, Cardizem, Cardene, and amiodarone.
