Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in ICU License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: CA RN license Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our combined ICU & CCU unit. The nurse will primarily work 12-hour day shifts from 0700 to 1930. This role will focus on the care of adult and geriatric patients. Common diagnoses include acute respiratory failure, septic shock, and cardiogenic shock. The nurse will be required to manage multi-organ failure, STEMI, and acute on chronic renal failure. The nurse should be proficient in monitoring altered mental status and DKA. The unit consists of 16 beds with a typical nurse to patient ratio of 1:2. Charting will be done using Cerner Millennium. Scrub color is navy blue. There is a requirement for float support, typically one per week, two times per month. Special procedures include arterial line insertion, bronchoscopy, intubation, central line insertion, and chest tube insertion. Common equipment utilized includes Alaria pumps and Nihon Koden monitoring. Nursing staff will titrate vasoactive drips such as norepinephrine, epinephrine, dopamine, phenylephrine, and dobutamine. This position is aligned with the 2022 California standards.
