AOD Clinician (Full-time) (Calipatria, CA) POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Supervising Counselor, the AOD Counselor is responsible for delivering programming services to the participants by delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services provided in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Deliver programming services to the participants; + Conduct group and/or individual sessions by utilizing motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and other therapeutic processes; + Evaluate and document the progress of particpants assigned to their groups; + Develop treatment plans with participants that is collaborative, individualized, and responsive to all parties changing needs. + Document treatment outcome using acceptable methods and tools; + Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records by documenting the delivery of programming services in ARMS; + Engage participants daily, reinforce group rules and expectation for participations and completion; + Protect and maintain program participant's health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records and participant information. + Adhere to the scheduled program curriculum + Work collaboratively with CDCR/CCHCS and institutional staff. + Demonstrates ethical behavioral in order to maintain professional standards and adhering to professional, certification or license, organizational, and CDCR requirements.. + Maintain appropriate and professional boundaries between staff and all participants. + Attends and actively participates in all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House, state licensing requirements, and CDCR requirements and completes all training on time + Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings + Adheres to and promotes the Phoenix House Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others + Understand and appropriately apply Phoenix House policies and procedure, and adhere to agency-wide practices and regulations. + Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The incumbent in this position has no supervisory responsibilities EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS The minimum qualifications for the AOD Counselor classifications are as follows: Journey Clinician A Journey Clinician must meet one (1) of the following minimum requirements: + A Master's Degree in a social service-related field and registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES + Demonstrated commitment and adherence to Phoenix House Mission, Vision, and Values: I CARE For? Integrity, Collaboration Appreciation, Respect, Excellence, and Forward-Thinking + Proficiency in MS Office systems + Ability to utilize an electronic healthcare record + Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others + Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced changing environment + Ability to establish and consistently enforce appropriate boundaries with patients + Ability to model positive behavior and demeanor + Understanding of addiction, co-occurring models, and treatment modalities + Understanding of patient development and family systems + Excellent time management and organizational skills + Ability to be flexible; problem solver, self-directed; customer service-oriented, and collaborative + Skills and ability to engage and develop a rapport with patients and families of various backgrounds + Bilingual in Spanish preferred Job location: Calipatria, CA Job number: 322 Phoenix House is an Equal Opportunity Employer providing equality of opportunity to all who are protected against discrimination by law, regulation or executive order, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
